Our mission at Getz Healthcare is to bring meaningful healthcare solutions to the people of the Asia Pacific region. We aim to achieve this by introducing accurate and actionable lung fluid measurement technology, known as ReDS™ (Remote Dielectric Sensing), for heart failure patients and other chronic diseases requiring lung fluid level monitoring in Hong Kong hospitals. Sensible Medical is the provider of this technology.

ReDS™ technology was originally developed for defense purposes, enabling the military to see through walls and locate survivors in collapsed buildings. Sensible Medical adapted this technology for medical use by creating a system to see through the ‘walls’ of the chest and inside the lungs of Heart Failure patients. It takes just 45 seconds to get a ReDS™ measurement at the hospital, the clinic, or even in the comfort of a patient’s home.

Implementing this technology will provide hospitals with an objective measurement tool, allowing them to make informed decisions regarding hospital discharge options for patients with low readings. It can also help adjust diuretic therapy or consider hospitalization for outpatients with high readings.

In August, we successfully conducted a trial of this device at the Ambulatory Heart Failure Clinic at Prince of Wales Hospital, a renowned regional hospital in Hong Kong. We firmly believe that this new technology will revolutionize heart failure management in Hong Kong.
