Getz Healthcare Hong Kong celebrated a monumental milestone in the field of vascular surgery — the first-ever implantation in Asia, on April 2, 2025, of Bentley BeFlared Stent Graft at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong!

BeFlared was first commercialized globally in February 2025 during the Leipzig Interventional Course (LINC). This innovative device is indicated for use as a bridging stent graft in patients requiring Endovascular Abdominal Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) with a fenestrated aortic endovascular graft. Its unique tapered shape is deployed during balloon inflation in a single step, which potentially reduces the risks of guidewire dislodgement during post-dilation after bridging stent deployment. This feature is particularly beneficial for shortening the procedure time of lengthy Fenestrated Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (FEVAR) operations, especially for procedures that requires multiple fenestrations in the aortic aneurysm repair.

Clinical trials conducted in Europe have yielded very positive feedback regarding the BeFlared's performance. The deployment process is as straightforward as that of BeGraft, which have been well recognized for more than 10 years, enhanced by an additional radiomarker that aids in accurately guiding the placement of the stent on the aortic endovascular graft.
